That's a logo, not vomit.

Okay, motherfucker. You don't even get to call me a slacker.

Some time has passed since last I wrote, including Christmas Day. For Christmas, among other goodies, I got an external hard drive, which I put a lot of my files on for sharing between my laptop and desktop. This includes my WR files, so I don't have access to those right now (because I'm at school, in the Jorgenson cafeteria -- there's a real cutie in front of me!). As such, I don't totally remember what I had talked about. Whatever.

Christmas was a lot busier than usual. My siblings and I organized a Christmas-present buying rotation to reduce the number of presents we had to buy -- it worked, actually. I was pretty busy because of the new job and all. The busy part wasn't because of the buying, but rather because of the activities of the day itself. Our original plans to go to the cottage fell through when we heard Jeff was sicker than we'd expected, so we ended up going to Carrie's house. We went there and did our gift opening and hung out for a bit.

After that, we all went over to Jeff and Liz's party pad (again, to exchange gifts and hang out). Pat stayed behind to prepare the Christmas dinner (which he was really excited about) and eventually we all came back. It was just strange to drive so much on Christmas day, it's always been a very... stationary occasion for me. I sort of associate Christmas with pyjama pants and bad hair, but this year my hair wasn't any worse than usual.

For New Years' Day, wherever that apostrophe goes, I ended up sticking with the plan to go to Peterborough. Adam and Josh had both been around the night before, so they stayed over and we went to catch a bus on Friday afternoon. The Greyhound schedule was fucking confusing. It had 2:55 on the regular schedule and 2:30 on the corrected holiday schedule. We decided to play it safe and aim for the earlier time. Even then we got there at least a half hour early, and went and got some lunch.

The bus came at about 3:15, and the line up was quite long. Then the bus driver stepped out and asked who was going to Peterborough, and who to Ottawa. After evaluating, he decided that his bus was now express to Ottawa and he said he'd call another bus for the people bound for Peterborough. People going to Ottawa who couldn't fit on that bus were told they'd have to wait for the next bus at 4:30. We were told the new bus would be about 20 minutes.

So, by 4:30 the new bus hadn't come, and neither had the next Ottawa bus. It was fucking annoying. We all had heavy bags and stuff, too. Adam was shivering and looked ridiculous, so we kept pushing him and stuff to make sure he was okay. After a while, I suggested to Adam that we play a game. It went kind of like this.

Kyle:"Okay, the category is breakfast cereals. You just name breakfast cereals, first one to repeat or take more than ten seconds loses. You can go first."
Adam:"Froot Loops."
Kyle:"Cocoa Puffs."
Adam:"Shredded Wheat."
Kyle:"Mini-Wheats."
Adam:"Corn Flakes."
Kyle:"Raisin Bran."
Adam:"...did you say Cocoa Puffs?"

Then he suggested the old-fashioned game of one person names an animal, and the next person names one whose name starts with the last letter of the previous animal. It sure passed the time until the bus came -- it was a lot more fun than making jokes about how long the bus was taking (ie. "Who in this line are we going to eat first?"). Then we played it for almost the entire bus ride. What was especially interesting was that we started taking it very seriously, saying things like, "oh, good move!" when someone thought of some especially "fitting" animal.

Then, for the next few days in Peterborough, we kept thinking of animals. We weren't playing the game anymore (and hopefully we never will again, that would be dumb), but we kept saying things like, "Oh, you know what would've been cool for E? Earthworm!", and so on. Seriously, we just got so excited when we realized there was another good animal name we hadn't used yet.

As it is, I'm pretty much sick of animals. Particularly the ones that begin with E, R, and T.

After New Years', my parents and I eventually decided to switch the bedrooms in the condo. The argument that won the room for me was that I spend a lot more time in my room, and they just use theirs for sleeping. We switched all of our crap and I gave myself a nice, spacious set-up... then the cable outlet in that room didn't work. As such, I had very limited internet access last week -- even the comp sci labs here at Ryerson weren't open yet. We moved the cable modem out into the family roomish area for my dad but I just sort of didn't bother.

I mean, seriously, who needs the internet anyway?

Friday I went to work and enjoyed the ability to "surf" the "web" there all day, then came home and it was working. Since then, my dad was reminded that he likes the internet too, so my mom and I went out and grabbed a wireless blaster. Now everyone ought to be able to shut up.

Yeah, things are pretty good now. I'd have to say my condo comfort level is about maximum. As a bonus, I got excellent marks last semester and have a tidy schedule for this one. I arranged to have Fridays off so I can still work at the call centre. Here's my schedule:
